1. Who We Are

Ayani is operated by Olamilekan Aina, trading as AyaniApp, based in London, United Kingdom. We provide a curated kids video streaming platform for children aged 0–5 and their parents.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

• Account information: Parent's full name and email address when creating an account
• Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We never store card details.
• Usage data: App usage patterns to improve the service (anonymised)
• Device information: Device type and operating system for compatibility

We do not collect any personal information from children. Accounts are created and managed by parents or guardians only.

3. Children's Privacy

Ayani is designed for use by young children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the UK GDPR:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
• All accounts must be created by a parent or guardian aged 18+
• We do not serve targeted advertising to children
• We do not track children's viewing behaviour for commercial purposes
• Content is filtered using YouTube's strict SafeSearch settings

4. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To process subscription payments via Stripe
• To send important account notifications (e.g. billing, updates)
• To improve the app and content curation
• To respond to customer support requests

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party.

5. Video Content

All video content in Ayani is sourced from YouTube's public API. When you tap a video, you are directed to YouTube's platform. YouTube's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that viewing experience. We recommend reviewing Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a GDPR-compliant database platform hosted in the EU (Paris). We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Encrypted password storage
• Regular security updates

7. Third Party Services

• Supabase — user authentication and database (GDPR compliant)
• Stripe — payment processing (PCI DSS compliant)
• YouTube Data API — video content (Google Privacy Policy applies)
• Median.co — app wrapping and distribution

8. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

As a UK resident, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to processing of your data
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

10. Subscription & Billing

Subscription payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card or payment information. You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Manage Account option in the app.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Continued use of Ayani after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Account Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your Ayani account and all associated personal data at any time.

How to delete your account:

• Email us at sales@ayaniapp.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request"
• Include the email address associated with your account
• We will delete your account and all personal data within 30 days of receiving your request

What gets deleted:

• Your name and email address
• Your account profile and subscription history
• All personal data stored in our database

What is retained:

• Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years for legal and tax compliance purposes
• Anonymous usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you

Deleting your account will immediately cancel any active subscription. No refunds will be issued for the remaining subscription period.
